Microsoft Outlook is one of the most popular communication applications in the world. First launched in 1996 as Hotmail, Outlook has been consistent throughout the year. Professionals and students around the world use Microsoft Outlook to do presentations and projects. With that being said, no application is perfect, and Microsoft Outlook has some issues that need to be resolved. But what are these Microsoft Outlook issues? In this article, we will talk about some of the common issues and solutions to fix them.

Some of the Common Microsoft Outlook Issues 2021

To help you deal with the common Microsoft outlook issues, we have covered the solutions as well here. So, let's get started.

1. Outlook stuck on loading profile

It is one of the most common Microsoft Outlook problems. Over time, notes, emails, calendar entries, attachments, etc., keep getting accumulated in the Outlook PST, making it abnormally large. It may cause an 'Outlook stuck at loading profile' issue.

Solution:

  • The first solution is to reduce PST file size. Users need to clean anything that is causing the PST to bloat up.
  • Delete all the unwanted emails and clear the trash.
  • Another thing users can do is archiving. Archive the emails by year. This will save large amounts of data to the disk, which will leave space in PST.

2. Outlook not working or not responding?

Many Outlook add-ins can make Outlook slow and can cause the app to crash. Some other reasons for this issue can be a corrupt Outlook profile, corruption in an Outlook data file, etc.

Solution:

  • To see whether add-ins are the root of the problem, start Outlook in safe mode and see if it performs better. If it does not perform any better, then the issue lies somewhere else.
  • If it does, go to Outlook's Trust Center and disable any suspicious plug-ins that might be corrupting your system. Restart the Outlook once done with the procedure.
  • If disabling Outlook add-ins does not resolve this issue, then try recreating the Outlook profile.

3. Outlook PST is corrupted

A corrupt PST file can cause inaccessibility of users' data since Outlook won't allow it to open.

Solution:

  • The ScanPST.exe, a built-in Microsoft utility, can prove very useful in this situation. Users can find it in their Outlook installation folder and just run it.
  • If the utility fails to fix PST file corruption or freezes, Stellar Repair for Outlook software can help.

4. Sending out spam emails

Users may get to know from other contacts that they have received a spam email from the user while they have no intention to send them an email.

Spam mails

This can prove embarrassing if the client is of high priority and the email sent is inappropriate.

Solution:

  • The cause of this issue is either the user's email account is hacked or a malware-infected computer with access to the user's email address.
  • Changing the password can help with the hacking situation, but if the user cannot do so, they should contact support immediately and report the issue.
  • If the computer is virus-infected, then scan the entire device with a reliable antivirus.
  • Also, inform your contacts about this situation to be aware of such an issue as well.

5. Microsoft Outlook issues with email

Users may find that the Outlook settings do not match each other when it is installed on more than one computing device. Downloading an email on both devices can also lead to inconsistency.

Solution:

Follow these instructions to resolve this problem:

  • Copy the PST file from one computer to the other manually and then restart the Outlook.
  • Switch to IMAP protocol that syncs the mail on the server with Outlook.
