1. Tabs

Ctrl+1-8 – Head to the desired tab, ranging from the left.

Ctrl+9 – head to the previous tab.

Ctrl+Shift+Tab – head to the previous tab – which is, the tab on the left. (Ctrl+Page Down additionally works, however not in Internet Explorer so make sure you don’t use this over there.)

Ctrl+W, Ctrl+F4 –  To shut the current tab.

Ctrl+Shift+T – To reopen the last closed tab.

Ctrl+T – To open a replacement or new tab.

Ctrl+N – To open a new browser window.

Alt+F4 – To close the current window. (Works in all applications.)

2. Mouse Actions for Tabs

Middle Click a Tab –To shut the tab.

Ctrl+Left Click, Middle Click –To Open a link in a background tab.

Shift+Left Click –To Open a link in a new browser window.

Ctrl+Shift+Left Click – To Open a link in a foreground tab.

3. Navigation

Alt+Left Arrow or Backspace – Back.

Alt+Right Arrow or Shift+Backspace – Forward.

F5 – Reload.

Ctrl+F5 – Reload and skip the cache, re-downloading the entire website.

Escape – Stop.

Alt+Home – Open homepage.

4. Zooming

Ctrl and + or Ctrl+Mousewheel Up – Zoom in.

Ctrl and – or Ctrl+Mousewheel Down — Zoom out.

Ctrl+0 – Default zoom level.

F11 – Full-screen mode.

5. Scrolling

Shift+Space or Page Up – Scroll up a frame.

Home – Top of page.

End – Bottom of page.

Middle Click – Scroll with the mouse. (Windows only)

6. Address Bar

Ctrl+L or Alt+D or F6 – Focus the address bar thus you will be able to begin typing.

Ctrl+Enter – Prefix www. and google .com to the text within the address bar, and so load the website. For instance, type Appsierra into the address bar and press Ctrl+Enter to open www.AppSierra.com

Alt+Enter – Open the location within the address bar in a new tab.

7. Search

Ctrl+K or Ctrl+E – To focus the browser’s built-in search box or to focus the address bar if the browser doesn’t have an integral search box. (Ctrl+K doesn’t work in Internet Explorer, Ctrl+E does.)

Alt+Enter – To perform a search from the search box in a new tab.

Ctrl+F or F3 – To Open the in-page search box to search on the current page.

Ctrl+G or F3 – To Find the next match of the searched text on the page.

Ctrl+Shift+G or Shift+F3 – To Find the previous match of the searched text on the page

8. History & Bookmarks

Ctrl+H – To Open the browsing history.

Ctrl+J – To Open the download history.

Ctrl+D – To Bookmark the current website.

Ctrl+Shift+Del –To  Open the Clear Browsing History window.

9. Other Functions

Ctrl+P – To Print the current page.

Ctrl+S – To Save the current page to your computer.

Ctrl+O – To Open a file from your computer.

Ctrl+U – To Open the current page’s source code. (Not in IE.)

F12 – To Open Developer Tools.
