Due to the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, a lot of users are now switching to other messaging apps like Telegram, Signal, etc. Telegram is a cloud-based messenger with seamless sync which can be used both on the phone as well as your PC and directly download large files to your computer when required. How To Hide Last Seen On Telegram 

To hide your last seen on Telegram, follow the steps mentioned below: 

  • Step 1: First, you need to start Telegram (the blue icon with a white paper aeroplane inside) which can be easily found on your home screen or in the app drawer.
  • Step 2: Then you need to tap on the three horizontal lines ( ☰ ), present at the top-left corner of the screen
  • Step 3: From there, you need to tap on the ‘Settings’ option.
  • Step 4: From the Settings section, you need to tap on the ‘Privacy and Security’.
  • Step 5: Then, you need to tap on the ‘Last Seen and Online’ option which might be set to ‘Everybody’ by default.
  • Step 6: Now, you need to select the option of ‘Nobody’ to disable your last seen status from everyone.
  • Please Note: Under the ‘Last Seen and Online’ section there are three other options- ‘Everybody’, ‘My Contacts’ and ‘Nobody’. Initially, it will be set to ‘Everybody’ by default, however, you can make changes according to your requirement.
  • Step 7: Then you need to tap on the checkmark icon from the right side of the screen after which, a pop-up message will appear on the screen notifying you that you won’t be able to see the last seen of those people with whom you don’t share your last seen.
  • Step 8: Lastly you need to tap on the ‘OK’ option and you’re last seen will be hidden.

You are good to go. Now no one will be able to check your last seen. Please remember that, when you hide last seen on Telegram, instead of time, it shows ‘Recently’.

How To Hide Last Seen On Telegram From Specific People

Telegram has this unique feature, using which you can add exceptions to the list of people who can see last seen. Below are the steps for hiding the last seen from specific people, doing which everyone will be able to see your last seen, except for those specific people who you added to the exceptions list.

  • Step 1: First, you need to ensure that your last scene is set to ‘Everybody’.
  • Step 2: Then you need to tap on the ‘Add Users’ option which can be found under the ‘Add exceptions’ section.
  • Step 3: Now you need to select the particular users whom you want to hide your last seen from.
  • Step 4:  Lastly, you need to tap on the checkmark icon present at the bottom right of your screen.

Please Note: Now, the user that you added to the ‘Exception’ list, will not be able to see you’re last seen anymore.
