  • Control your thermostat, doorbell, camera, and other gadgets through Google Home using SmartThings. For example, you can lock or unlock the door by just shouting a command instead of physical keys. Voice command makes even boring jobs fun and easy.

  • Your Google nest devices would be added under the certified ‘Works With SmartThings’ (WWST).

How to connect SmartThings to Google Home?

To connect your Google Home with SmartThings follow these steps:

  • Open your Google Home application and open the Menu. Make sure to use the Google account with which you use your Google Home.
  • First, we need to switch accounts, for this, you need to click on the arrow beside your account name and tap on the Home Control option.
  • Open the Devices settings and click on the plus icon at the bottom corner.
  • Click on the SmartThings tab.
  • Fill in the SmartThings credentials or e-mail address and click on the Next option.
  • From the Menu choose the SmartThings Location and choose to authorize such that all the devices of the location will get permission to be accessed.

Note: This permits all the devices to be accessed using SmartThings. In order to restrict it, you can modify the access that Google Home controls.

Connect SmartThings to the rooms you want

  • Open the Google Home Menu from the application.
  • Click on the Home Control settings tab and select the ‘Rooms’ option.
  • Click on the plus icon on the bottom corner.
  • You can add the room from the list or add the room using the ‘Custom Room’ option.
  • To save the group click on Done.
  • Now go to the Devices tab from which you can select the device and add it to a particular room by clicking on the Room.
  • You can add more devices whenever you want by this method and make managing much simpler.

  • Manage the lights, television, air conditioner, refrigerator, etc. right from where you are.
