Before sucking the water out of your phone, fit a hose attachment onto the vacuum cleaner. Then, set the vacuum to its highest and vacuum around all your phone’s openings.

3. Use an air compressor

If using a vacuum cleaner is not possible for you then you can make use of an air compressor to blow the water out of your phone. Adjust it to lower psi. Then,  blow the compressor’s air across the surface of your phone. Do not set your air compressor to higher psi as using higher psi can damage the inner components of your phone. Moreover, we recommend you not to use a hairdryer as an alternative to an air compressor, as the heat can cause severe damage to your phone.

4. Wipe your phone and battery

Wipe your phone and the battery with a soft rag or towel. Even though drying the inside of your water-damaged phone is the priority, you might also want to dry it outside as much as possible. Gently wipe the water off the phone’s surface as possible, as you are blowing or vacuuming it dry. While wiping your phone, avoid shaking or moving the phone excessively. So that water doesn’t penetrate inside causing unwanted damage.

5. Leave your phone in the open air

Leave your phone in the open air with a fan on. You can place your wet phone on top of a dry towel or another absorbent surface. Now, turn on the fan and leave it to dry. If you happen to have a table fan then you can use that as well. Just position it in such a way that it will blow wind across your phone’s surface.

6. Wait for 48-72 hours to turn on your phone

We know you are eager to check your phone. But wait for 48 to 73 hours, then turn your phone on. Before turning on your phone, check if it is clean and dry. If you see any dirt or dust on the device, wipe it off or vacuum it. Now, insert the battery (removable battery) into the phone and try to turn it on.
